Six MLB Futures Bets for the 2025 Season

The MLB season gets underway tomorrow, and there’s no better way to celebrate spring baseball than putting some money on the line. It’s a long season, so we’ve put together six of our favourite bets that you can track for all 162 games.
Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series (+1000).
It's easy to take the Dodgers to go back-to-back with the roster they’ve got, but in a best-of-7 series, anything can happen. The Phillies have the type of team that could take down L.A. if they get hot, and after a couple of years of getting to the doorstep, I think they’re due. The AL is still much weaker than the NL so if the Phils can get past the Braves, Mets and Dodgers, the World Series is theirs to lose.
Pete Crow Armstrong 30+ stolen bases (-166).
The speedster will get his first full season on the North side this year, and assuming he stays healthy, he’s a lock to swipe at least 30 bags. In just 240 games across the minors, PCA has 81 steals. With the chance to play centerfield every day in Chicago, the only thing stopping him from stealing 50 bases will be getting himself on first base enough.
Tampa Bay Rays Under 81.5 wins (-110).
Someone needs to be at the bottom of the AL East, and this season, it's hard to imagine it not being the Rays. The lineup is ugly, their ace Shane McClanahan is out with an injury, and they're playing in arguably the hardest division in baseball. The Rays are scrappy and always find a way to win more than they should, but this year, I think they’ll end up being the AL East punching bag.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to win MVP (+1200).
Now we’re getting a little dangerous. This is far from a guarantee, but at +1200, you can’t argue with the value. First of all, he’s in his walk year, and he’s going to be extra motivated to put up some monster numbers. Second, the competition has thinned out. The only reason Vladdy doesn’t already have an MVP to his name is because of a guy named Shohei Ohtani. Now that Ohtani's in the NL, his odds have vastly improved. There’s still Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt and some other great players, but there’s no reason Vlad shouldn’t be in the MVP discussion with those guys.
Alex Bregman Over 20.5 home runs (-120).
That swing paired with Fenway Park for 81 games is a recipe for some tanks. Bregman’s power is all to pull side and with the hitter-friendly Green Monster sitting out in left field, he’s gonna love hitting at home this year. I’d say 20 is the safe bet — he’s done it in each of the past three seasons — but there’s no reason Bregman couldn’t pop at least 30 this year.
Matt Olson Over 142.5 hits (-110)
After a down year in 2024, the Braves first baseman is primed for a comeback year. And even in his lacklustre season last year, Olson still had 148 hits — in fact, he’s never had fewer than 140 hits in a full season. I’m pretty confident Olson will add at least 30 home runs this year, but if you’re looking for a safer bet, this one's a no-brainer.
